Have you ever been too exhausted to eat? I think of the times I’ve been to Six Flags or White Water and I’m so hot and tired that all I want is something to drink and I don’t want a bite of anything. Well I must have completed a marathon at work on Friday because I was literally too exhausted to eat lunch. I sat in the break room and just stared at the wall for an hour. That’s what 24 kindergartners will do to you sometimes 🙂 So, I told Brent to meet me at Five Guys for dinner…I deserved a greasy cheeseburger and fresh cut fries. Then we made our way to Lifeway because I needed a book. Didn’t really know what book, I just knew that I wanted a new book to read. I came home with In Step With God by Charles Stanley. I can’t tell you if it’s good because I haven’t had a chance to sit down since I bought it. Friday night was spent studying for Sunday school and Sunday night classes with the youth…in between loads of laundry. Saturday we woke up early and made our way to a Habitat for Humanity house to paint. The company Brent works for provided some volunteers to paint the ceilings and walls in a 3 bed/2 bath house. We were only expecting to be painting with Brent’s co-workers. Instead, it seems like the entire community showed up to help, which was very nice of them, but they took all the painting supplies and took up all the elbow room. So, we ran an “errand” to get some Starbucks coffee. When we returned, the crew was waiting for the primer on the walls to dry. We waited for about 45 minutes and about 11:15, lunch showed up. We ate with everyone then left. I hate to eat and run…but we didn’t see the need to stand there, without supplies, and be in the way. My brother, Ben, and our friend, Gus, showed up around noon to spend the day with us. Ben came up here to get a mattress we weren’t using and he was supposed to bring a taller ladder than the one we have so that we could fix some loose roof shingles…but he forgot the ladder. We ate dinner at Village Pizza and got dessert at Maggie Moo’s (my fav). Gus returned home and Ben spent the night. Sunday morning was spent at church and lunch. I went to Gap that afternoon because I had a 30% coupon, thanks to Kristin, and conveniently had $80 in gift cards leftover from Christmas. I could have bought the whole store, but a coupon and $80 dollars only goes so far. We went back to church Sunday night to teach the ETS (Equipping the Saints) class on worship. I just have to stop here and commend The Lane youth…since it is the first weekend of their Spring break, we weren’t expecting to have very many students. We had 8 in our class and 21 total over all the youth classes. I think that’s pretty good for Spring break. Ben left around 8 and Brent and I watched “Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist”. I don’t recommend it. The storyline is all cute and sweet, but the language and such is unnecessary. Then it was off to bed to wake up to another wonderful week 🙂 I hope all of you had a great weekend and, if you have a Spring break this week, I hope you enjoy relaxing wherever you may be.
