Ruby’s Sixth Month

Miss Wuby Jeams, I just can’t believe that I’m writing your sixth month blog! How can that be? And that reminds me, I haven’t finished your birth story post. I have to get my act together!

Firsts: Celebrating Daddy’s birthday, eating more food (apples, sweet potatoes, pears, carrots, and you are NOT a fan of squash and avocado…yet), St. Patrick’s Day

Favorite Toy/Activity: Playing on the floor with all of your toys; and you love to chew on your toes

Mommy’s Favorite: You are such a happy baby!

Daddy’s Favorite: Daddy always says “Ditto”

Lily’s Favorite: Your squealing and your chubby cheeks

Scott’s Favorite: Giving you “tisses”. He says his kisses are only for you :).

Milestones: You can roll from belly to back, although that’s because you hate to be on your belly. Still working on rolling from back to belly. You can grasp things and bring them to your mouth. Now that you are eating solids and taking one less bottle (4 a day), you are not spitting up very much and you are taking real naps! I think you’ll be sitting up soon, too.

Weight/Length: 75% in weight (around 16 pounds), 50% in height

Like Mommy: You need your sleep!

Like Daddy: You are a deep sleeper

Like Lily: Most mornings you wake up in a good mood and occasionally you will stay in bed and talk before we come to get you

Like Scott: Your smile and chunky cheeks.

Best Memory: You’ve been waking up super early a few mornings a week and since you and your sister share a room, we put you in our bed to get you back to sleep (something we would have NEVER done with the first 2 kids, but hello…THIRD CHILD, do what you gotta do). It’s nice to have you in our quiet room early in the morning, assuming you go back to sleep 😉

Biggest Challenge: Switching to solid foods has made some nasty diapers!

How We Spend the Day: You wake up everyday between 6 and 7 and take 6 ounces. You take a mid-morning nap for about an hour and have another 6 ounces anytime between 9:30-10:30. You eat a jar of food around noon and take an early afternoon nap for about 1 1/2 hours. Then you eat another 6 ounces around 2:30 or 3 and I pick you up from school. You play at home until around 4:30 and take a cat nap while I cook dinner. You eat another jar of food around 5:30 and take your last 6 ounce bottle sometime after 7. You are in bed by 8 most nights.

Nicknames: Wuby Jeams and Miss Ruby

Funniest Moment: You have this raspy growl/laugh. We love it!

How We Celebrated: You and Scott are on spring break, so you are hanging out with Daddy and big brother this week!

Coming Up: Aunt Katie and Uncle Zack’s wedding and your first Easter!!!
